Editorial Policy for KuyaOvlak.com

Last Updated: June 7, 2025

This document outlines the editorial policy and content creation process for KuyaOvlak.com. Our primary goal is to provide news and information in Tagalog, synthesized from publicly available online sources, in a manner that’s easily understandable for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Filipinos globally.

1. Our Guiding Principles

KuyaOvlak.com is committed to:

  • Accessibility: Delivering news in Tagalog to make information more accessible.
  • Clarity: Ensuring our created articles are clear, concise, and easy to understand.
  • Relevance: Focusing on topics of interest and importance to the Filipino community.
  • Responsibility: Creating content ethically and with respect for our sources and audience.

2. Content Sourcing

Our articles are original works created by our team. The information and inspiration for these articles are primarily drawn from:

  • Publicly available posts, discussions, and trending topics on various social media platforms.
  • Reports and articles from established Philippine news websites and other online publications.

We select topics based on their newsworthiness, public interest, and relevance to our target audience.

3. Content Creation Process

Our process for creating Tagalog news articles involves:

  • Information Gathering: Monitoring selected social media channels and news outlets.
  • Contextual Understanding: We aim to understand the context of information from public sources before using it as a basis for our articles.
  • Synthesis & Original Writing: Our team synthesizes the gathered information and creates new, original articles in Tagalog. This involves summarizing, explaining, providing context, and adapting the language for our target audience. The goal is to produce a transformative work that’s distinct from the source material(s).
  • Review: Articles are reviewed for clarity, Tagalog language accuracy, and general coherence before publication.

4. Attribution and Referencing Sources

As our articles are derivative and synthetic works in Tagalog, direct, granular attribution to every piece of source information (like individual social media posts) may not always be practical within the flow of our articles. However, where appropriate and feasible, we may generally refer to the types of sources (e.g., “ayon sa mga ulat sa social media,” “batay sa impormasyon mula sa ilang news outlets”) or name prominent source publications if they’re foundational to understanding the story. Our work is intended as a new expression and summary, not a direct republication. We don’t claim our articles are primary-source journalism.

5. Objectivity and Tone

We strive to present information in our created articles in a fair and balanced manner. When topics are sensitive or controversial, we aim to report on the different facets of the discussion as observed in public sources, rather than presenting opinion as fact. The Tagalog language used is intended to be neutral and informative.

6. Corrections and Updates

If we become aware of a significant factual inaccuracy in one of our articles that originated from our synthesis, translation, or writing process, we’ll endeavor to correct it promptly. If an inaccuracy stems from original source material which is later corrected by that source, we may update our article to reflect this if deemed significant. Readers can report potential errors or request clarifications by contacting us at contact@kuyaovlak.com (also see our Contact Us page).

7. Use of Illustrative Article Images

We may use images sourced from publicly available online locations as illustrative article images only for illustrative purposes. Our policy regarding these images is detailed in our Copyright & Fair Use Policy.

8. No Video Content from Third Parties

KuyaOvlak.com doesn’t upload or host video content sourced from other websites.

9. Compliance

We operate with respect for legal guidelines, including copyright. For more information, please see our Terms of Service and Disclaimer.

This editorial policy is subject to review and modification. We’re committed to transparency and responsible content creation for the Filipino community.
